Recycling: Light bulbs
Visy began in 1948 in Shepparton, when founder Leon Pratt came up with an idea to replace heavy wooden crates that transported apples with lighter, sturdier cardboard boxes. That spirit of innovation still drives us today.
Since then, we’ve grown into Australia’s largest processor of kerbside recycling and a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions – but proudly remain an Australian family-owned business.
With 7, 000 employees across 150 sites, we’re powering the circular economy by closing the loop on materials through recycling and remanufacturing.
We believe materials are not recycled until they’ve been made into new products. We are using recycled content to power Australia and New Zealand’s food and beverage packaging industry.
From 100% recycled cardboard boxes to Australia’s first milk bottle with 50% recycled content, and glass bottles with 90% recycled content – sustainability is at the core of everything we do.
With this ethos, we are diverting materials away from landfill, cutting emissions and protecting our precious natural resources.
Beyond this, we're proud to support our customers by providing integrated solutions for logistics, packaging supplies, point of sale displays and more.
