Shred-X, part of the Freightways Ltd Group, is a fast-paced and rapidly growing company providing complete Documentation, Electronic Product, and Specialist Fabric Destruction and Recycling Solutions for businesses across Australia.
We’re seeking a motivated and reliable Factory Sorter to join our Yatala branch on a full-time basis. In this key hands-on role, you’ll play an important part in the day-to-day operation of our recycling facility — ensuring materials are processed efficiently, safely, and sustainably. Your work will help protect our clients’ information, support our environmental goals, and keep operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
• Perform daily pre-start checks on plant and equipment
• Sort, scan, and dismantle e-waste for destruction in accordance with processing requirements
• Record information accurately for inbound and outbound loads using ERP and Microsoft Office software
• Assist with loading and unloading vehicles and ensure materials are processed within timeframes
• Operate small battery-powered and compressed air tools
• Utilise a small Pantech truck to perform on-site destructions for clients when required
• Operate forklifts (if licensed), pallet jacks, and shredding equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, performing cleaning and minor maintenance as needed
• Support other departments when required
• Adhere to all WHS and company safety standards — Safety is our top priority
What You Bring
• A valid Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle (public transport limited)
• Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
• Forklift licence – highly desirable
• Good physical stamina and manual dexterity – the role involves manual handling
• Comfortable using battery and hand tools such as drills, screwdrivers, and pliers
• Interest in computers or electronic hardware advantageous
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and communicate effectively with supervisors
• Strong organisation, time management, and teamwork skills
