First Class Welder / Fabricator
Are you a skilled welder/fabricator with a strong work ethic and attention to detail?
We're seeking an experienced First Class Welder / Fabricator to join a dynamic manufacturing workshop committed to delivering high-quality, custom-built products for clients across Australia.
About the Role This is a hands-on position where you'll be responsible for the fabrication and welding of various components in steel, stainless steel and aluminium. You will work from technical drawings to produce quality parts that meet precise specifications, support workshop operations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings
- MIG and TIG welding of steel, stainless steel and aluminium
- Fabrication of components according to design specifications
- Surface finishing including cleaning and polishing of fabricated items
- Prepare materials for galvanising and powder coating
- Perform minor mechanical assembly tasks as required
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Support process improvements aligned with the company’s quality systems
To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate:
- Proven MIG and TIG welding experience with steel, stainless steel and aluminium
- Strong general fabrication knowledge and practical skills
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Competent use of hand tools and fabrication equipment
- Ability to work independently and meet agreed production timeframes
- Awareness of quality assurance and safety processes in a manufacturing environment
- Reliable, punctual and proactive work ethic
- Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent recognised trade qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ industry experience post-qualification
- Valid C-Class Manual Driver’s Licence
- Forklift Licence (LF)
- Formal training or certification in MIG/TIG welding
- White Card or general construction induction card
- Experience with polishing and surface finishing of fabricated products
- Competitive salary: $85,000 – $90,000 per annum + Super
